Join the AAP Foundation for a hoedown in Austin!
Join your friends and colleagues this November for the AAP Foundation Hoedown at the iconic Speakeasy Austin for some great music, good food, cocktails and fun times!
Whether you're in cowboy boots or loafers, our line dancing instructor will show you the latest steps. Capture the memories you'll make in our fun photo booth, and two-step the night away. All proceeds benefit the AAP Foundation, the only charitable organization dedicated to periodontists and the patients they serve.
This event follows our Mellonig Memorial Dinner (separate ticket purchase required). We will continue to remember Dr. Mellonig during our Hoedown with delicious bites from regions of the US that played an important role in his life, and other special tributes.
Once our hoedown is over, the main floor of Speakeasy will be open, in case you would like to keep the party going!

Satheesh Elangovan
"Apart from helping me financially, this award has strengthened my commitment to dental education. I will be in academics for life," says Satheesh Elangovan, BDS, ScD, DMSc, a 2011 Abram and Sylvia Chasens Teaching and Research Fellow. Dr. Elangovan is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He is also the AAP Foundation's 2008 Tarrson Regeneration Scholar.
